This wet crawl space in Eminence, KY, was falling apart due to excess moisture. The open vents and the dirt floor in the crawl space were allowing moisture to damage the floor joists and the fiberglass insulation. Mold was also a concern, as musty smells were emitting up into their living space above. By encapsulating it with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, our SilverGlo insulation, our drainage system, and our SmartSump sump pump, we were able to eliminate the moisture and insulate the crawl space. We also strengthened the floor joists by adding wooden sister joists, and by installing our SmartJack crawl space posts. We then topped it all off by sealing all the vents and joists with vent covers and spray foam insulation. The result is a crawl space that will provide the homeowners with clean air, savings on energy, and savings on costly repairs.
Do you have a musty crawl space? Some people think they can tough it out with, "just the musty smells" but there are many more problems with a musty crawl space than the smells. Your crawl space will eat away at itself and the wood will rot. It's better to fix the musty smells right away than to try and tough it out until the wood rots, then you have to just fix it anyways.
In 2017, our trusted team visited a home in Bagdad, KY, for a foundation check, and honesty led us to reassure the homeowner their foundation was stable, saving them from unnecessary work. By 2024, their priority shifted to a chilly crawl space. As seen in the photo, we transformed this vital but overlooked space from cold and uninviting to a warm, energy-efficient area using our CleanSpace encapsulation, SilverGlow insulation, and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. Remarkably, comfort and peace of mind were restored, showcasing our commitment to lasting solutions and unparalleled customer journeys.
One of the bigger projects in recent history, this home was due for a crawl space makeover. 1,335 square feet of Clean Space was installed along the floors to put it into perspective. On top of that, the home needed 4 rows of Smart Jacks installed to help with the foundation settling. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona, a Smart Pump, Perforated Pipes, Supplemental beams, SilverGlo, an UltraSump, and Joist Assist Brackets. All in all, this project will be paid for itself in terms of saving the crawl space, energy savings, and health savings. The customer was very happy.
This vented crawl space was allowing wet air to enter in the Spring and Summer, and it was allowing for cold air to enter in the Winter and Fall. The wet air had destroyed the fiberglass insulation, damaged the wood, and caused musty smells. The cold air caused cold floors and higher energy bills in the winter. By encapsulating the crawl space with our CleanSpace moisture barrier, our SmartSump sump pump, and our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, we were able to completely change the look, feel, and smell of the crawl space.
