In Georgetown, KY, this home’s basement was beginning to show signs of stress from heavy hydrostatic pressure along an outside corner of the foundation. Water intrusion and shifting soils had caused cracks and leaks, and the corner walls were starting to lean inward. Contributing factors may have included poor grading, loose backfill, undersized gutters, or simply an excess of rainfall.
Fortunately, the homeowner addressed the issue early. Our team stabilized the two affected walls using CarbonArmor straps, (as seen in the before photo), preventing any further lateral movement. Once the structure was secure, we moved on to waterproofing the corner with our proprietary system.
We installed subfloor WaterGuard drains in perimeter trenches and set a SuperSump basin in the corner. A 1/3 HP Zoeller pump was placed inside the basin, then sealed with an airtight lid. To finish, we concealed the drainage system with new concrete and covered the stabilized walls with BrightWall panels. These panels not only provide a clean, finished look by hiding the carbon straps but also add protection against future moisture thanks to their waterproof composition. This homeowner was happy enough to leave us a five star google review.
We replaced this customers sump pump in Lexington, KY, to improve their foundations waterproofing efficiency. You may also notice that we installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier across the block wall to help control moisture seepage coming in from the leaky foundation. Lastly, the old waterproofing system was hooked up to exterior drains, which failed overtime from sitting in the "mud-zone." We replaced the drainage system with our patented interior system, which includes our WaterGuard subfloor drains across the perimeter of the basement. Our WaterGuard drains sit above the "mud-zone" on top of the footing of the home. The homeowner was relieved to know their waterproofing system just received a huge upgrade.
This window enclosure is able to trap and reflect sunlight into your basement, providing natural light. The enclosure also directs rain away from the well.
This basement had an old pump that was not up to the homeowners standard. They called us to replace it with our state of the art TripleSafe sump pump with an UltraSump 4 battery backup attached.
