This crawl space in Jeffersonville, KY, was dealing with moisture issues, as evidence by the attached before picture. The floor of the crawl space was muddied, and the air duct system was at risk of deterioration if the moisture was left untreated. We fixed the issue by encapsulating the crawl space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier, but the heart of the system relies on our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. You see, when you seal a crawl space off completely, (including the vents) you have to make sure the air stays conditioned so moisture doesn't become trapped in the space. Our SaniDry Sedona system runs automatically, and it is able to remove up to 99 pints of water out of the air in a day if needed be. The crawl space is now dry as a bone, and the homeowner noticed a difference in the air quality above the crawl space almost immediately.
This basement was leaking water when it rained, and the homeowners wanted it to stop. They didn't like having to pull out their industrial fans and lifting up their carpet every time it rained so they called us to get it waterproofed.
This wet basement in Salt Lick, KY, had a leaky block foundation that needed a proper waterproofing system. The newer home was built with exterior french drains, but those didn't last long underneath the soil. Instead of digging around their homes foundation again to replace their exterior system, the homeowners wanted our full-proof system that would last way longer than another exterior system, (and would be less of a headache to install). The pinnacle of this full-proof system is our TripleSafe sump pump, as seen in the "after" picture. This sump pump comes with three different pumps inside its airtight liner, including a pump that is backed by a battery backup system, (in case of power outage). With our full interior system now in place, the homeowners can get back to reinstalling some new carpet - and they won't have to worry about if it will get ruined again.
Hydrostatic pressure is the most common issue for basements that we see. When your foundation was first built, the builders have to dig up soil around the foundation and then have to backfill back around that foundation with the same soil. Because the soil was dug up, it's not as compact. This creates a clay bowl effect around your home, where water is more inclined to saturate the soil around your foundation because the soil was once broken up. With all this water sitting on the outside of your foundation, it creates a tremendous amount of pressure on the walls. In order to relieve this water pressure, we installed an interior waterproofing system that invites the built up water into the sump pump, and then the sump pump discharges that water far away from the home. We then installed PowerBraces on the bowed wall to make sure the wall is stabilized for good. Lastly, we installed BrightWall panels to cover up the stained block walls.
After we encapsulated the crawl space, the homeowners finally had a reason to use it. They wanted to store some things down there, so they wanted a new access well that would make climbing in and out of the crawl space easier. We installed our Turtl door, which comes with a locking capability, perfect for anyone who wishes to store valuables in their crawl space. The Turtl is also super strong, weather resistant, and looks great.
