The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky Case Studies: The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky Saves a Sinking Porch

Challenge

Tracey of Mc Kee, Kentucky, called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky because her front porch settled intensely on one corner. The concrete on the porch was cracked. The roof overhang was connected to the main roof and would have caused major damage if not repaired. 

Solution

When we arrived on-site to do the estimate, we discovered someone had tried to fix the porch in the past by laying down extra concrete where there was a gap in the sidewalk pavement. We explained to her the problem wouldn't be fixed with more concrete. We would have to install helical piers. 

Helical piers are installed on the outside of her home. We took out the steps of her porch and sidewalk. Then we excavated the ground around her porch and installed 7 piers. This will lift the porch and keep it from sinking again.
