Polylevel can be used to level a floor.  Polylevel uses an expandable foam that is injected under the slab.  The Foam expands and lifts the concrete slab.

WaterGuard to resolve water intrusion in Paris, KY

A Paris, Kentucky homeowner has a home built in the 1970s with a block foundation that seeps water when it rains.  The basement has been gutted and there is a sump pump installed.  The homeowner met with Damon, a Certified Inspector, for a solution to this problem.

We installed WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System for the homeowner.  WaterGuard is a patented perimeter drainage system that is installed along the foundation walls to intercept water that is seeping into the basement.  The water is then drained into a sump pump system, such as the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System or a TripleSafe Sump Pump System, to be pumped out of the basement.

Another product that could have been installed is one of our Basement Wall Systems.  ZenWall Paneling System is our best looking system and makes a big difference in the way your basement looks and feels.   BrightWall is 4x8 sheets of plastic paneling that cover the walls and gives the basement a semi-finished look. Caroline called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky regarding a wall that was bowing and a wall that had some water damage in a home that she had just purchased.  She met with Damon, one of our Certified Inspectors, who recommended a solution to her basement problems.  Damon recommended PowerBraces to support the wall that was bowing.  The PowerBraces will immediately stabilize the wall and can be tightened over time to potentially straighten the wall.  As a later project, she could look at waterproofing the basement and fixing the water damage.  The best products for that job can be determined by the homeowner and Certified Inspector when she is ready to move on to that project.
