This crawl space in Georgetown, KY, had ongoing moisture issues, so our team installed a full drainage and encapsulation system to keep it permanently dry. We laid drainage matting and perforated pipe around the perimeter to direct groundwater to a new TripleSafe sump pump. Then, we sealed the space with CleanSpace vapor barrier to block humidity and finished the job with a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier for year-round moisture control. This is what the crawl space looked like before work began. Our crew started by clearing out the old plastic liner, removing the moldy insulation from the floor joists, and taking out the cinder blocks to prepare the area for our encapsulation system.

We then started to install our drainage system by trenching around the entire perimeter of the crawl space.

Next, we installed perforated drain lines in the trenches. Each drain is wrapped in a knitted sleeve that helps filter out mud and sediment, ensuring long-term, clog-free drainage.

We then backfilled the drains with gravel.

We then installed our dimpled drainage matting all over the floor of the crawl space for additional drainage. This matting will also help strengthen the CleanSpace vapor barrier over it.
