This photo was taken upon the initial inspection. This open sump pit was allowing moisture to seep back into the crawl space. The walls were stained, the fiberglass was hanging from the floor joists, and the wood moisture content was high.

We installed our waterproof membrane across the floor of the crawl space to start the project. This dimpled drainage matting will allow groundwater to flow to the sump pump and provide a break between the vapor barrier, (that we installed over the top of) and the wet floor.

CleanSpace Vapor Barrier in Morehead, KY

After we installed our drainage matting across the floor and wrapped the walls with our SilverGlo insulation panels, we then fully wrapped the space with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. This white vapor barrier is made of an antimicrobial material that will keep the home smelling fresh. The vapor barrier was taped at all the seams to ensure the space stays dry as possible.

In this corner of the space we installed our SmartSump sump pump and our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. While it may be hard to see from this angle, the SmartSump has an airtight lid that tucks into the vapor barrier to create an airtight seal. Our dehumidifier is completely automated thanks to its humidity sensor and its condensation pump to discharge the water it collects out of the air.
