Trench Excavation
To start the project, we first had to trench out the basement floor slab around the perimeter of the foundation. When we jackhammer the trenches open, we first make sure to cover any vents and furniture in the basement with plastic to make sure everything stays dust free. We also use negative air systems to filter dust out of the home.
Gutter Drain System
This photo was taken after we placed our gutter drains in the trenches and we backfilled the drains with gravel. This drainage system sits on top of the footing and just underneath the top of the floor slab. This area is most optimal for capturing water leaks.
Concealed Drains
After pitching the drainage system correctly towards the sump basin, we then concealed the drains with a fresh layer of concrete to keep the drains hidden.
New Sump Basin
We installed our biggest available sump liner in the corner of the basement. As you can see, the system was already filtering groundwater towards the sump basin and filling it up with water. The three yellow stands you see around the floor in this photo are our pump stands. These stands make sure the three pumps we throw into the basin stay off the floor of the basin, keeping the pumps free of dirt.
Triple Safe Sump Pump
This was what our TripleSafe sump pump looked like after we finished installation. It comes with a battery backup system, which can power one of the three pumps inside the liner.
