Excavation Proccess
To being the project, we first moved all items six feet away from the perimeter of the basement, and then we sealed the items with a plastic tarp. We then jackhammered the floor slab around the perimeter of the basement to make room for our drainage system. After this photo was taken, we then drilled weep holes in the coves to invite outside water into the drainage system. Scroll to the next photo to see the next step!
French Drains
The next step was to fit the coves with our WaterGuard drainage system. We then backfilled our gutter drains with gravel. We also made sure to correctly pitch the drains down towards the sump pump. Lastly, we fastened the walls with our CleanSpace vapor barrier. We made sure to properly seal the vapor barrier against the wall and into the subfloor drainage system. This wall system will drain any moisture that transfers through the foundation walls down into the drainage system.
Waterproofing Project Complete
This photo shows our drainage system concealed with a fresh layer of concrete that we mixed on site.
Basement Waterproofing
This was what the other side of the basement looked like near the garage door.
Sump Pump
Here is a close up of the sump pump seen in the last photo. Our sump pump has an airtight lid, an airtight floor drain, an alarm system, and a zoeller pump inside of it. It's discharge line runs outside of the home far away from the foundation.
Trench Drain
We installed a trench drain at the garage door opening. This drain is more than strong enough to handle the load of a car. We place all of our trench drains inside of the basement, (rather than the outside) to prevent debris from entering the system.
Dry Basement
Our waterproofing system comes with a free, transferable, lifetime warranty.
