How our Interior Perimeter Waterproofing System Works in Stanton, KY
Challenge
This project in Stanton, KY was a perfect example of how our interior waterproofing system can completely transform a wet, unusable basement into a dry and dependable space. The homeowner was running a small business out of their basement, but ongoing water leaks and constant moisture made it nearly impossible to operate or safely store materials. The block foundation walls were allowing water to seep through, and the musty environment was becoming a real obstacle for their daily work. The homeowner called us to design a long-term interior waterproofing solution that would let them confidently use their basement again.
Solution
We installed a full perimeter WaterGuard drainage system, a TripleSafe sump pump for reliable water removal, and trench drains around the water heater for added protection. Each photo from this project captures a different step of the process, showing exactly how our interior waterproofing system works from start to finish.
The process began with trenching around the basement perimeter by jackhammering the concrete floor. To minimize dust and disruption, we used a negative air system throughout the project. We also had the homeowner move all of their work shelves to the middle of the basement so we could safely cover them in a plastic tarp, which we made sure to seal airtight. Once the trench was opened, small weep holes were drilled into the bottom row of block to relieve any built-up wall pressure and direct the water into the WaterGuard channels.
Our WaterGuard drains were then fitted neatly on top of the footing—never beside it—so they stay out of the mud zone and remain clear over time. We backfilled the trench with clean gravel for proper drainage, then applied a layer of moisture-transfer prevention tape before sealing everything with fresh concrete. The top flange of the WaterGuard is designed to remain visible along the base of the wall, allowing any wall moisture to drain directly into the system without leaving stains or puddles on the floor.
Finally, all collected water flows through the WaterGuard system and into the TripleSafe sump pump, which provides three layers of protection to keep the basement dry even during heavy storms or power outages.
This Stanton, KY basement is now clean, dry, and ready to use again—giving the homeowner the confidence to continue running their business without worrying about leaks, humidity, or damage to stored materials. Each step of the installation captured in this case study highlights how our interior perimeter waterproofing system works together as a complete, permanent solution.
