Photo Album: Basement Waterproofing in Monticello, KY

We waterproofed this basement in Monticello, KY, to stop moisture and leaks from occurring. This rather large basement required a lot of work to waterproof it from the inside, but rest assured, an exterior system would have required a lot more work. Additionally, exterior systems are a lot more susceptible to clogging, so we almost always recommend our interior system. The hardest part of the project was having to cut out the perimeter of the basement floor to make room for our french drain system, which required our crew to jackhammer, pickaxe, and carry buckets of concrete out of the basement. It was totally worth it though, as the basement is now dry for life. We then fitted our WaterGuard drains in the open trenches. We backfilled the drains with gravel as well.

We then rolled a moisture wicking tape across the top of the system to help prevent moisture from transferring through the floor.

We then concealed the drains with a fresh layer of concrete. The tape from the previous photo will help keep the concrete dry. We also aligned the walls with our CleanSpace vapor barrier to further keep the moisture levels down in the basement. The CleanSpace wall system tucks into the subfloor drainage system to help channel moisture down beneath the floor.

Sump Pump in Monticello, KY

We installed our TripleSafe sump pump to discharge water far and away from the home. The TripleSafe comes with three different pumps inside the liner, including one battery backed up pump. You may also notice we installed a trench drain at the base of the stairwell door to prevent any water from running across the floor.
