This wet basement in Salt Lick, KY, had a leaky block foundation that needed a proper waterproofing system. The newer home was built with exterior french drains, but those didn't last long underneath the soil. Instead of digging around their homes foundation again to replace their exterior system, the homeowners wanted our full-proof system that would last way longer than another exterior system, (and would be less of a headache to install). The pinnacle of this full-proof system is our TripleSafe sump pump, as seen in the "after" picture. This sump pump comes with three different pumps inside its airtight liner, including a pump that is backed by a battery backup system, (in case of power outage). With our full interior system now in place, the homeowners can get back to reinstalling some new carpet - and they won't have to worry about if it will get ruined again.

Crawl spaces can provide useful storage space or even necessary access to a home's wiring or ductwork. Unfortunately, in [city_page:state], most crawl spaces have dirt floors that are prone to moisture problems and fluctuating temperatures. This can contribute to mold and moisture issues, including wood rot, which can lead to compromised structural integrity.
The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky offers complete crawl space repair and preservation services, including crawl space encapsulation, crawl space waterproofing, and crawl space insulation. We install effective, proven durable dehumidifiers, air purifiers, vapor barriers, and crawl space jacks to improve structural stability. Improving the supports in your crawl space can also lift or prevent sagging floors in your home above the crawl space.
Foundation problems are intimidating, costly, and stressful for homeowners. Luckily we make the process as easy as possible, from evaluation to solution and cleanup. It is our specialty to not only identify the exact problem with your foundation but also to install proven solutions and prevent the problems from recurring. A 16-year-old block foundation home in Salt Lick, KY was showing clear signs of moisture trouble. The 3-foot-tall crawl space had a dirt floor and outside-only access, which made it a prime candidate for humidity and water intrusion. The homeowner told us they’d noticed a damp, earthy smell after heavy rains, and during our inspection, we found pooled water along the perimeter and condensation clinging to the block walls.
We started by installing 203 feet of perforated pipe for crawl space waterproofing, directing water to a SmartSump system with an IceGuard discharge and a LawnScape outlet to keep water moving away from the home year-round. The block piers were wrapped for added moisture protection, and we applied Anabec Cleaner followed by X70 Sealer to sanitize and shield the surfaces.
To fully separate the crawl space from the damp soil below, we lined 1,795 sq. ft. with CleanSpace vapor barrier over SilverGlo insulation, sealing it tight with a new EverLast crawl space door. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to keep the space consistently dry, while upgraded electrical ensured the sump and dehumidifier run without issue.
Now, instead of damp air drifting upward into the living space, the home benefits from a clean, conditioned crawl space — and the homeowner says their allergy symptoms have eased noticeably since the work was completed.
