This basement was unfinished because it leaked every time it rained. The home owners called us to waterproof their basement so they could finally finish their larger basement. We installed an interior perimeter waterproofing drainage system, which was comprised of our patented WaterGuard drainage product. The drainage connected to a TripleSafe sump pump with a battery back up.
We recently helped a homeowner in Science Hill, Kentucky who was dealing with persistent moisture and musty odors in their basement. Water was seeping in along the perimeter during heavy rains, and humidity levels were high year-round — creating the perfect environment for mold and discomfort.
To provide a complete, long-term solution, we installed a WaterGuard interior drainage system along the basement perimeter. This system efficiently collects water that enters through the walls or floor joint and directs it to a powerful SuperSump pump system, ensuring the basement stays dry even during storms.
To take it a step further, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, one of the most efficient basement units on the market. It controls humidity and improves air quality, protecting the home from mold growth and musty smells.
The result is a clean, dry, and healthy basement — ready to be used as livable space and no longer a worry during rainy weather. The homeowner was thrilled to finally have a worry-free basement they can count on.
In Nancy, Kentucky, a homeowner faced sagging floors due to settling columns in their shallow crawl space. Seeking a solution, they contacted The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky. Our Customer Care Specialist quickly scheduled a home inspection. Following this, our System Design Specialist diagnosed the issue and proposed the SmartJack® System to stabilize the crawl space beams and joists. Our skilled production team handled the installation. They set the galvanized steel columns on a sturdy engineered base, securing them to the floor joists with adjustable brackets to evenly distribute the home's weight. Through precise adjustments, the SmartJack® System lifted the sagging floors toward their original position and reduced floor bounce. Our team completed the work with a thorough cleanup, meeting our professional standards. This successful project ensured the homeowner's floors were stable and restored, demonstrating our commitment to reliable solutions and outstanding customer service.
The left side of this garage in Somerset, KY, was settling, causing cracks to appear in the foundation and the brick. We often see garages settle because they are often times on a different foundation from the rest of the home. We stabilized the foundation by installing a system of helical piers, which were underpinned underneath the foundation. These piers have a screw-like shape, which allow us to drill them deep into the earth without disturbing the soil. Once our pressure gauges read a certain PSI, we are able to confirm the piers have reached unmoveable dirt, allowing us to guarantee the foundation will never move again for as long as the structure lives. After we drilled the piers, we then attached them to brackets to latch them onto the footing of the home. After the brackets were connected, we then lifted the foundation back up using hydraulics to help close the gaps and cracks that appeared. After reaching a desirable level, we then covered the system by backfilling the hole with dirt. The result left the homeowner very happy, because they no longer have to worry about their garage sliding down the hill any longer, for the rest of time.
