David of Annville, Kentucky, had floors in his home that weren't level anymore. After a Google search, he found The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky and gave us a call.
After the inspection, we provided an estimate. The best option to support David's floor was to install SmartJacks in his crawl space. David felt the solution was too expensive, but he thanked us for our time. We appreciated the opportunity to help him.
This home in Tyner, KY was dealing with serious foundation and moisture problems that had caused rot and uneven floors. The homeowner had already replaced the damaged floorboards and several joists but needed a permanent solution to stabilize the structure and protect the crawl space from future issues.
Our team started by addressing the foundation. We installed new sill plates and band boards beneath a key wall that needed additional strength, then set three SmartJack systems with supplemental steel beams to stabilize the floor and prevent further settling. These supports were carefully placed to reinforce areas that couldn’t be replaced without compromising the walls above.
Once the structure was stabilized, we encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace to seal out moisture and humidity. The durable liner helps protect the new framing from future rot and keeps the space clean and dry.
This project was one of our larger crawl space jobs, but it left the homeowner with a stable, dry, and healthy foundation—and peace of mind knowing their home is protected for the long term.
We were recently called out to a home in McKee, Kentucky where the homeowner had noticed inward bowing along two basement walls. The foundation was showing signs of pressure from the surrounding soil, which, if left unaddressed, could lead to major structural issues.
To stabilize the walls and prevent further movement, our team installed CarbonArmor® Wall Reinforcing Straps. These are made of a high-strength carbon fiber that’s 10 times stronger than steel and designed specifically for basement wall repair. The straps were bonded directly to the interior wall surface using a high-strength epoxy, creating a permanent solution that doesn’t require invasive exterior excavation.
This installation not only restored the structural integrity of the foundation, but also gave the homeowner long-term peace of mind. The system is clean, low-profile, and can even be painted over for a finished look—making it ideal for finished or unfinished basements.
A homeowner in McKee, KY reached out after noticing water seeping into their old stone foundation basement. We provided a free inspection, and our inspector recommended a full interior waterproofing solution. The plan included installing WaterGuard around the perimeter to capture and channel moisture, wrapping the stone walls with CleanSpace panels to block water and reduce musty odors, and adding a sump pump and dehumidifier to keep the basement dry. The homeowner now has a clear plan to protect their basement from leaks and moisture issues once they’re ready to move forward.
