This customers porch steps were sinking four to five inches into the ground, which could result in a potential hazard. Luckily our PolyLeveling system was able to raise the steps to the exact level needed very neatly.

This house was built on a slab foundation, meaning the footers were pretty much on top of the dirt. We often witness foundation problems for structures built on slabs because the footers do not sit beneath the frost line, (the frost line is where the soil is able to freeze underground). Because the footers of the foundation sit above the frost line, the soil beneath it often goes through periods of shrinking and expanding, causing havoc on the foundation. Although scary, we were able to fix this side of the structure relatively easily by underpinning the foundation with steel piers. After lifting the foundation back with the red attachment on the piers, (seen in the after picture) we then take the attachments off and backfill the piers, leaving them completely concealed from the ground.

Crawl spaces can provide useful storage space or even necessary access to a home's wiring or ductwork. Unfortunately, in Kentucky, most crawl spaces have dirt floors that are prone to moisture problems and fluctuating temperatures. This can contribute to mold and moisture issues, including wood rot, which can lead to compromised structural integrity.
The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky offers complete crawl space repair and preservation services, including crawl space encapsulation, crawl space waterproofing, and crawl space insulation. We install effective, proven durable dehumidifiers, air purifiers, vapor barriers, and crawl space jacks to improve structural stability. Improving the supports in your crawl space can also lift or prevent sagging floors in your home above the crawl space.
Foundation problems are intimidating, costly, and stressful for homeowners. Luckily we make the process as easy as possible, from evaluation to solution and cleanup. We went out to install our interior perimeter basement waterproofing system for a homeowner in Hazard, KY. Seen in the photo is the guts of our drainage system and our sump liner - which is filled with groundwater. When the photo was taken, we had already: Trenched the perimeter and our sump pit, drilled weeping holes, fitted our WaterGuard subfloor drains into the trenches, and fitted our TripleSafe sump pump liner in the sump pit. After the photo was taken, we then: fitted the sump liner with three pumps & hooked up a battery backup system, fitted the sump liner with our airtight lid, poured gravel around the sump liner, laid moisture-proof tape on top of the drains, configured the discharge line, and floated concrete over the drainage system. The homeowner was happy to have a working system that didn't require us to dig around on the outside of their home.
