A home in Newport, Kentucky had a bowing wall that was also leaking water into the basement. After meeting with a Certified Inspector, the homeowner decided to have PowerBraces installed to stabilize the bowing wall. There is an adjustable screw on the PowerBrace that can be tightened over time and may be able to reverse the wall failure. To address the water problem in the basement the homeowner had BrightWall Paneling system, WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, a TrenchDrain, a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System, and an UltraSump Battery Back-up System installed.
BrightWall Panels are sheets of bright white plastic paneling that are permanently attached to the basement walls. The BrightWall Panels not only cover the walls but will also drain any wall leaks down into the WaterGuard.
WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a sub-floor piping system that is used to intercept the water that seeps into the basement and then drains it into the sump pump system. A TrenchDrain is installed across doorways to allow water to flow in from the grated top.
The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System includes 3 CleanPump Stands, the WaterWatch Alarm, an Airtight Lid with an Airtight Floor Drain, a SuperLiner. The UltraSump Battery Back-up System was also installed. This system will turn on during a pump or power failure to remove water from the basement.

A homeowner in Alexandria, Kentucky called The Basement Doctor regarding problems with a wall crack that was leaking water into the basement. We used the FlexiSpan Crack Repair System to resolve this problem. The FlexiSpan is a permanent, reliable repair for a crack in the basement wall. First, a bead of sealant seals the crack and keeps it from leaking. The problem with stopping at just the sealant is as the house continues to settle, the crack may re-open and leak again. The FlexiSpan also has a Foam Drain Strip that is installed over the bead of sealant. If any water ever gets past the sealant, it will be drained into theFoam Drain Strip. The Foam Drain Strip is covered from top to bottom with a flexible Sealant OverLay. This completely seals the repair. For more information on how the FlexiSpan system works and if it can be used to seal a crack in your basement. Call The Basement Doctor for a free estimate.
