Jessica F. called The Basement Doctor to schedule an appointment concerning water that was seeping into several places into her partially finished basement.
She scheduled an appointment with Walt, one of our inspectors, who discovered some cracks on the outside brick of the home. He also found moisture on cracks on the inside poured concrete walls, as well as water seeping in from a basement window.
The solution that he recommended was to seal the crack from the outside using FlexiCaulk, which is a urethane polymer based sealant, install our patented helical pier system, which are steel helical piers that are mechanically screwed into the soil to support the wall from the outside, add a Well Duct window well system to drain the water and keep the window well from flooding, and also a SuperSump system to carry the water away from the house. He also recommended the installation of a CleanSpace system to the additional crawlspace area. Jessica will definitely call The Basement Doctor again when she decides to move forward with that project at a later date.

A Florence Kentucky homeowner was experiencing water seeping into the basement and the homeowner was not sure where the water was coming from. The home is approximately 15 years old, with a poured foundation and a partially finished basement. The homeowner met with a certified inspector and decided to have a Triple Safe Sump Pump System installed.
The TripleSafe Sump is a three pump system. Pump 1 is a Zoeller M-53 1/3 hp Pump. Pump 2 is a Zoeller M-98 1/2 hp High Volume Pump. Pump 3 is the UltraSump Battery Back-up Pumping System. Pump 1 is the primary pump and will do the pumping the majority of the time. If pump 1 fails or becomes overwhelmed with a high water volume, Pump 2 will start up giving it a turbo boost. Both pumps working together can remove up to 6,200 gallons of water per hour out of the basement. Pump 3 is a battery back-up system that will run on battery power to remove water during a power outage. It comes with its own battery and charging station.
The TripleSafe Sump System will remove the water from the basement. Another product to consider for this job would be the WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System. WaterGuard is a piping system installed into the floor around the perimeter of the basement to collect the water that is seeping into the basement. The water is then drained into the sump pump system to be pumped out of the basement. These systems working together would give the homeowner a dry basement that can be used for storage or extra living space without worries of water intrusion.
A homeowner in Florence, Kentucky called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky regarding their home that was built in 1979. The home had a block foundation, no sump pump had been installed, and the home previously had outside waterproofing done by another company. The homeowner was having problems with water seeping into the basement at the floor.
The homeowner met with Steve, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System and a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System are installed to resolve the problems the homeowner was having in the basement.
WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System a patented system designed by Basement Systems. WaterGuard is a piping system that is installed under the floor along the foundation walls on the inside of the basement. WaterGuard is designed not to sit in the dirt to prevent it from getting clogged by debris. Water that seeps into the basement is collected by the WaterGuard and drained into a sump pump system to be pumped out of the basement.
The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System is a high-end 1/3 hp Zoeller cast iron pump. SuperSump has a WaterWatch Alarm that sounds an alarm if there is a pump or power failure. This will alert the homeowner to a problem that needs to be resolved with the system. The SuperLiner is a heavy-duty liner that houses the pump and will not cave in or crack. The Airtight Lid keeps water from evaporating back into the basement, keeps objects from falling into the liner and helps to quiet the pump.
WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System and the SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System will help the homeowner create a basement that is dry and the homeowner will no longer have to worry about water intruding into the basement.

The Helical Pier System is a steel pier that is mechanically screwed into the ground until it reaches bedrock or competent soil. A bracket is attached to the pier and to the foundation footer this transfers the weight of the foundation from the incompetent soil to the stable soil. This stabilizes the foundation and protects it against further movement. An attempt can be made to lift the foundation back to a level position.
